THE SENIOR OFFICIALS FROM THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH VISITED THE DOMESTIC PHARMACEUTICAL FACTORIES

Representatives of the Ministry of Health together with those from the Mongolian Association of United Pharmaceutical Organizations worked in person at Monos and Nakhia pharmaceutical factories and  Enkhiin shuuder and Aiviko sterile injectables factories to learn the real situation of pharmaceutical factories. At the meet, the representatives from the government organizations discussed the problems faced by the manufacturers during the pandemic and on further work together to solve them. The senior officials of the pharmaceutical sector pointed out that it has been difficult at the border port to recieve some types of medications, drug raw materials, other required medical materials and equipment from the southern neighbor, and this leads to the risk of delay in emergency health care services. To solve the problem, the representatives from the ministry promised to fly a charter plane from China on January 17 to receive the supplies. First, the parties agreed to pick up the provision of drip injections, intravenous infusion set and other essential items for the day-to-day activities of the hospitals. In fact, if their cargoes being transported on land arrive here without stuck at the port, most of factories will have enough stock for 3-4 months. After seeing over with the information on the cargo of raw materials have shipped by the factories, authorized persons from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Road Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have made a decision to urgently receive their cargo from the customs of Mongolia.

In 2016, Monos had expanded its activity by having put the GMP Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Complex into operation, that was built in compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practices” Regulation published by the World Health Organization, and has currently been manufacturing a total of 73 types of medication with 145 different dosage, increasing its factory capacity by 3-5 times. Of which, 41 different dosages of 34 types of medication are included in the National Essential Medicines List.

In order to maintain the treatment active properties of the drugs they manufacture, and also to ensure the safety of pharmaceutical products, Monos prioritizes the use of pharmaceutical raw materials that meet the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia in its pharmaceutical production, as well as has competence of their staff who conduct drug inspections regularly examined by the LGC standards organization, England as audit exam.
